i have wooden junkers on my floors, how do i stop them from squeaking?

Can junkers wooden flooring be sanded back and stained?

Q) We have junkers wooden flooring that has a laquered finish . Is this able to be sanded back and restained? it is looking a bit tired and Ideally i would like it to be slightly darker than the pearwood finish that it currently is.

A) Rental places will instruct you on how to successfully remove old finish from your hardwood floors. They're sell you the various grits of sandpaper and rent the two kinds of sanders that you'll need. (A belt sander for most of the room and an orbital sander for the edges and corners.) When you go off to the DYI store, ask about different stains and finishes. I have never stained any floor that I have sanded, preferring, instead to just coat it the three times with a water-based urethane. There are products that claim to be two-in-one (stain and urethane). I would not recommend them since you may not like the effect and a correction is just that much more difficult to do. Hardwood floors boost the resale value of a home tremendously and are well worth the time and effort.
